The dosage is adjusted according to the oxygen concentration in the feedwater, requiring an average of 16 ppm of product for each ppm of oxygen to be removed. Maintaining a residual sulfite concentration, which varies according to the boiler pressure, is also recommended.

THE ECO.CAL BO 31 It should be applied continuously, directly into the degassed water tank or feed line. For dilution, use demineralized or condensed water. Compatible materials include 316 stainless steel, PVC, PVDF, Teflon, and polyethylene.

Completely soluble in water, it appears as a reddish-white transparent liquid, with a pH between 3.0 and 5.0 and a specific gravity between 1.27–1.37 g/cc. Requires storage between 0°C and 40°C, protected from sunlight.
